Position Overview: We are seeking a Pharmaceutical Warehouse and Distribution Manager to join our team and oversee the efficient operation of our warehouse facility. The Warehouse and Distribution Manager will optimize warehouse operations and inventory management to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness while implementing advanced technologies and policies for continuous improvement. They will also lead and develop the team, ensuring seamless integration with the broader supply chain and maintaining high standards of performance through measurable KPIs.
Responsibilities:
Operational Efficiency
- Assess and improve strengths in order picking accuracy, delivery timelines, and receiving efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks, optimize processing times, and enhance space utilization.
- Evaluate and address labor inefficiencies, equipment issues, and inventory discrepancies.
- Implement automated temperature control systems with real-time monitoring solutions.
- Develop and propose risk mitigation strategies, incorporating feedback from customers and team members.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, shipments, or inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate efficient order processing and shipment schedules.
Inventory Management
- Analyze inventory levels to address out-of-stock (OOS) and overstocking issues.
- Report on and improve inventory accuracy based on cycle counts.
- Implement strategies to maintain accurate inventory data.
Logistics Management
- Plan and organize daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Optimize receiving processes, unloading times, verification procedures, and put-away strategies.
- Improve order picking, packing, and shipping processes for efficiency and cost savings.
- Analyze and enhance the transportation fleets composition, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption.
- Foster supply chain integration to improve collaboration and information flow.
Technology and Systems
- Utilize warehouse management software to track inventory, manage orders, and generate reports.
- Evaluate and upgrade management systems to streamline operations.
- Implement real-time tracking and route optimization technologies for logistics.
Policies and Procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Highlight effective policies and identify gaps or outdated procedures.
- Propose and implement revisions or new policies for workflow, safety, and efficiency.
Team Management and Training
- Assess and recommend improvements to team structure and staffing levels.
- Enhance team collaboration, communication, and performance.
- Communicate new or revised policies effectively to the team.
Customer Service
- Address delivery issues, customer feedback, and complaints.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding shipment statuses and delivery schedules.
KPI Development and Monitoring
- Establish and monitor KPIs (e.g. fulfillment time, picking accuracy, inventory turnover ratio, etc)
- Set ambitious targets for the team and analyze trends for continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g. APICS, CSCMP).
- Experience with automated systems for temperature control and real-time tracking.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management software, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehousing.
- Strong leadership, organizational, team management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
