Job Description
Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of patients physical abilities, limitations, and medical conditions using a variety of assessment tools and techniques, such as manual muscle testing, range of motion assessments, and gait analysis.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients needs, goals, and medical history, utilizing evidence-based practices and current research.
Implement therapeutic interventions, such as exercise, manual therapy, and electrotherapy, to improve patients physical function, reduce pain, and enhance mobility and quality of life.
Manage inpatient cases in Intensive care and ward providing chest physiotherapy and other modalities as per competency assessment and clinical subspecialty
Monitor and evaluate patients progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate progress to the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercises to promote self-management and optimal recovery.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide coordinated care to patients.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of physiotherapy practices and research.
Provide supervision and mentorship to physiotherapists and seniors as required
Contribute to the internal education activities periodically to ensure knowledge exchange
Comply with hospital policies, Infection control policies, safety policies and quality standards
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:
Educational Requirements
BC. Degree in Physical Therapy
MSC of physiotherapy in orthopedic, sports, spine subspecialties - Preferable : motor control, OMTC, Neurorehab. , Healthcare quality cources.
Experience Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in a hospital or accredited centers.
Valid license to practice physiotherapy in the state or country where the hospital is located.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitude
In-depth knowledge of evidence-based physiotherapy practices and techniques, as well as experience with manual therapy and exercise prescription.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop and adjust treatment plans based on patients progress and changing needs.
Experience with medical record systems and documentation. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
Must be able to assist patients with mobility and transfers.
May be exposed to infectious diseases and hazardous materials, and must follow appropriate safety protocols.
