JOB PURPOSE:
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to ensure optimal project execution aligned with strategic objectives. This role requires advanced proficiency in Planning tools such as MS project and Primavera P6, strong skills in Power BI, Excel, and a deep understanding of earned value management. The candidate will collaborate with project teams across various divisions to ensure that project timelines, resources, and budgets are effectively managed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project and Program Planning:
- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, ensuring all project and program milestones are tracked and met on time.
- Utilize MS Project Online for program-level scheduling and tracking to ensure integration and consistency across multiple project timelines.
Data Integration and Reporting:
- Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources, including MS Project online, Monday.com and project management systems, using Power BI and Excel.
- Create and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into project metrics and performance indicators.
Earned Value and Performance Management:
- Implement and manage earned value management systems to accurately measure project performance and progress.
- Regularly review project performance against goals, identifying discrepancies and areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication and Coordination:
- Validate and incorporate updates and communications from stakeholders into project schedules and reporting tools.
- Ensure clear, effective communication and coordination with project managers, stakeholders, and other relevant teams.
Continuous Process Improvement:
- Continually assess and optimize planning processes and tools, enhancing project management practices within the organization.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is mandatory.
- Expertise in Microsoft project and Primavera P6.
- Proficient in Power BI and familiar with additional reporting tools such as SSRS or Tableau
- Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com.
- Demonstrated expertise in earned value management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
1 to 3 years experience in project planning within relevant industries.
