experience with SUBSTATION & along with relevant approvals as well.A Planning Engineer with substation experience at Saudi Electric Company is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the engineering and construction activities related to substations. This role involves ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
Project Planning and Scheduling- Develop detailed project schedules and timelines for substation projects.
Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and adherence to the project plan.- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and delays.
Design and Engineering Coordination- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure technical specifications and standards are met.
Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.- Ensure that design changes are documented and communicated effectively.
Resource Management- Estimate and allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Ensure that the required resources are available and utilized efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.- Work with procurement teams to source necessary materials and equipment.
Quality Assurance and Control- Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets industry standards and company specifications.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.- Address and resolve any quality issues that arise during the project.
Budget Management- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and expenditures are tracked accurately.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce project expenses.- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.
Risk Management- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
Conduct risk assessments and regularly review risk management plans.- Ensure that all team members are aware of potential risks and understand their roles in mitigating them.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting- Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Prepare and present regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, issues, and next steps.- Facilitate meetings and discussions to resolve project-related challenges and ensure alignment.
Compliance and Safety- Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Promote a culture of safety on the construction site, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols.- Address any safety concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Qualifications and Skills
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Experience
: Proven experience as a planning engineer, specifically in substation projects, preferably with Saudi Electric Company or similar organizations.Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), CAD software, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address project challenges and optimize processes.
Communication Skills
: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.Attention to Detail
: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in planning, budgeting, and reporting.Certifications: PMP or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.
This role is typically based in an office environment but requires frequent visits to construction sites.
- Occasional travel may be necessary to meet with stakeholders and inspect project sites.
