Job Summary: The Planning Manager leads the planning, scheduling, and resource management efforts of projects to ensure timely completion. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, analyzing delays, optimizing resource utilization, and providing reports to stakeholders to enhance project efficiency.
Description of Activities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including task sequencing, duration estimation, and resource allocation, using industry-standard tools.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, identifying and addressing potential delays or issues as needed.
Analyze causes of delays and disruptions, conduct delay analysis, and communicate findings to relevant parties.
Facilitate regular project status meetings to discuss schedule updates, resource allocation, and risks.
Collaborate with the cost control team to manage projects within approved budgets.
Assess resource requirements and availability, optimizing resource utilization through necessary adjustments.
Develop and present weekly and monthly reports on project status, progress, and deviations from the baseline schedule.
Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
Provide input into the development of risk management strategies and contingency plans.
Stay updated on industry best practices, new tools, and technologies related to project planning and management.
Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience/Technical Skills/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree is advantageous.
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in project planning and scheduling, preferably in Joinery.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other scheduling tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address scheduling conflicts and delays effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset to manage complex project schedules accurately.
Knowledge of cost control, budget management, and risk assessment.
Leadership abilities to guide teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure project success.
