Your new role, what's involved
As a Planning & Schedule Engineer at WSP in Riyadh, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, scheduling, and execution of road, bridge, highway, and tunnel projects. Leveraging your extensive experience in project management and scheduling, you will develop comprehensive project plans, monitor progress, and optimize project timelines to achieve project objectives efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and timelines, in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Schedule Development: Prepare project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6), ensuring alignment with project requirements, resource availability, and contractual obligations.
Resource Allocation: Coordinate with project teams to allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to support project activities and meet schedule milestones.
Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identify variances, and analyze critical path activities to proactively address schedule delays or deviations.
Risk Management: Identify schedule risks and uncertainties, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors to minimize potential impacts on project timelines and deliverables.
Change Management: Assess the impact of changes to project scope, schedule, or resource allocation and implement adjustments to the project plan as necessary, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
Performance Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide project management teams and stakeholders with insights into project status, schedule performance, and key milestones.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to address scheduling concerns, facilitate coordination, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Lessons Learned: Conduct post-project reviews and analysis to capture lessons learned, identify areas for improvement, and refine scheduling processes and best practices for future projects.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with project schedules, contractual requirements, and industry standards, while maintaining high-quality standards in all scheduling activities.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling roles on road, bridge, highway, and tunnel projects.
Proven expertise in project scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong understanding of project management principles, with experience in site supervision and construction management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
