POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for managing mid and large-sized key projects (strategic and operational) to achieve RAKEZ and Ras Al Khaimah-wide objectives.
CORE RESPONSITLIES:
- Assist with, and oversee the implementation of, the RAKEZ corporate strategy and key strategic projects, in line with overall Ras Al Khaimah and UAE strategy.
- Oversee the delivery of key projects and ensure delivery is within scope, timelines, and budget.
- Implement a mechanism to monitor key projects in the organization.
- Develop a standard project business case template and assess the business case for proposed projects, to assist the Management with decision-making, providing go-ahead, budgets and relevant resource requirements (as necessary).
- Work with the Enterprise Risk Management team to identify, communicate and escalate risks and operational impact across the business, as they relate to key projects.
- Assist in prioritizing projects based on timeline, cost-benefit considerations, and capacity to achieve results within timeframes established.
- Communicate the performance improvement framework for projects, supporting its implementation in each function in a professional manner.
- Monitor and ensure projects and initiatives are in compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Monitor short-term and long-term plans; ensuring they are written, communicated, reviewed, and evaluated on a routine basis.
- Advise functional project teams on good project management skills, and facilitate discussions on project plans and activities, assisting in building the capabilities (i.e. certifications and success measures) of all project team members, regardless of department/division in order to have efficient teams executing projects professionally.
- Advise functional project teams on project implementation, change management and realized benefits analysis in order to have efficient teams implementing projects professionally.
- Coordinate and conduct post-implementation reviews of projects to determine their effectiveness.
- Implement & lead Commercial PMO Framework in alignment with EPMO Lead for project delivery team to adhere in order to increase project success & maturity.
- Participate to EPMO Tool implementation and engage with EPMO Lead for its continuous improvement
- Work in enhancing the PMO Dashboard with more insights around project progress, Costs and business benefits realization
- Manage and communicate RAKEZ Project Management Framework including tools and processes for project delivery team to follow; ensuring its deployment across all RAKEZ projects.
- Contribute to enhance project business case template, assess the business case for proposed projects, and assist EPMO Lead on decision-making as required.
- Manage and communicate the risk management approach to identify and escalate risks and operational impact across the business as it relates to major projects.
- Oversee the delivery of Commercial & IT projects and ensure delivery is within scope, budget & quality.
- Assist project owners/Managers/champions during project lifecycle and ensure submitted WBS consider the approved template with the appropriate assignment & duration.
- Communicate Program/Project performance Progress and improvement supporting its implementation in each function as assigned by EPMO Lead.
- Monitor and ensure projects/initiatives follow EPMO Governance framework and escalate any identified breach as appropriate to EPMO Lead.
- Monitor short-run and long run plans; ensuring they are written, communicated, reviewed and evaluated on a quarterly basis. (Portfolio/Programs Health check)
- Manage delegation of work and assignment of projects to delivery management and team ensuring right capabilities and workload allocated.
- Coordinate and conduct post-implementation reviews of projects with project managers to determine their effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in project management/business administration or an equivalent degree.
- Project Management Qualifications and Accreditations (PMP, PRINCE 2).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in previous roles in strategy, project management, and execution.
- Experience in managing and monitoring strategy implementation and reporting.
- Excellent program management and project management skills.
- Fluent in English (bilingual with Arabic is preferred).
