Job Description

The Post Fixture Manager is responsible for managing all post-fixture activities, including charter party preparation, laytime calculations, claims handling, and ensuring the timely collection of payments. This role is pivotal in maintaining customer satisfaction and maximizing revenue while minimizing warranty and insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Charter Party Management:

  • Ensure charter parties are prepared promptly upon fixture conclusion.
  • Execute post-fixture activities, including laytime calculations, final hire to owners, and freight invoices to charterers, ensuring accurate interpretation of charter party clauses and shipping terms/practices.
  • Oversee the processing of brokering commissions to brokers.
  • Handle FD&D claims, speed claims, and other disputes with charterers.

Financial Management:

  • Follow up to ensure timely payment of receivables, including charter hire payments, freights, and demurrage.
  • Minimize charter party warranty and insurance claims to maximize revenues.

Operational Management:

  • Maintain proper filing for the Chartering & Operations Department.
  • Ensure services are delivered as per agreements, and SOPs and process documentation are up to date per company and maritime standards.
  • Ensure work is carried out professionally and in compliance with applicable contracts and agreements.
  • Liaise with the Legal Department and P&I Clubs to proactively address potential disputes and legal issues.
  • Collaborate with the team for efficient delivery of services to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in dry bulk vessel operations, preferably in a ship operating company.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, industry best practices, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in maritime software systems, especially IMOS (Veson).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in fast-paced operational environments.
  • Previous seagoing career with recent shore-based management experience preferred.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed to support vessel operations.
