In a pioneering international initiative, Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical
College established Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar (WCM-Q) in 2001 through a
unique partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and
Community Development.
The Functional genomics laboratory at WCM-Q invites applications for a
postdoctoral position: Postdoctoral Associate in Genetic Medicine. We are a
diverse group that is developing and applying genomic technology for studying
protein-protein interactions.
Must Have
Ph.D. degree in genetics, biochemistry or a closely related field
1-2 years of previous post-doctoral experience
Should Have
Prior in-depth experience with DNA technologies such as sub-cloning,
transformation, protein expression
Next-generation sequencing library construction experience
Protein-protein interaction techniques such as pull-downs and coimmunoprecipitation
Good understanding of DNA sequence analysis and computational tools
Skills
General Molecular Biology techniques
Excellent grasp of controlled experimental design
Highly motivated with ability for laboratory troubleshooting
Fluent in English
Organizational skills
Manuscript writing experience
Able to work independently
WCM-Q is located in Education City among other American universities in Doha,
which is a rapidly growing research hub. The WCM-Q research program offers a
collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, endowed with a comprehensive

WCM-Q postdoctoral associates are appointed by the academic departments at
Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.
The stipend offered is commensurate with experience. Fully furnished housing and
transportation allowance are also provided, if eligible.
