Responsibilities
- To define and develop a power supply/electronic load solution to meet customer and market demands.
- To define the test parameters and capture new requirements for power supply/electronic load.
- To collaborate with different team to ensure the power supply/electronic load meets system requirements.
- To actively participate in design verification testing and characterization of power supply/electronic load in the lab.
- To provide support to the other teams to facilitate manufacturing of the power supply/electronic load products.
Qualifications
Work based competencies:
- Good knowledge in power conversion topologies including AC-DC and DC-DC converters (eg. AC rectification, PFC, flyback, forward, half/full bridge, resonant etc.)
- Appreciation of cost/performance trade-offs in power supply design for cost-sensitive and high-volume applications
- Magnetics design knowledge and experience
- Control loop theory and practice in the context of power supplies.
- Good understanding of international EMC and electrical safety regulations and circuit techniques to achieve compliance at minimal BOM cost.
- Proficiency with software tools such as LTspice, TINA, Saber, Matlab etc.
- Demonstrated ability to write accurate and concise technical documentation including bench evaluations and simulation results.
- Practical bench skills and confident user of lab equipment.
- Familiarity with digital circuit design, microcontrollers, FPGA prototyping and Verilog programming (preferred not a must).
