Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Pre-Ops Airport Manager for Ground Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of ground operations activities for the airline. This role involves overseeing pre- operations activity, including planning, coordination, and execution of ground handling activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service.
This role requires a proactive and organized professional with a passion for aviation and a commitment to ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction in ground operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Collaborate with various internal departments such as flight operations, customer services, IT, facilities, and maintenance to develop and execute pre-operations plans for seamless start-up of ground operations activity at the airport.
Supervise and provide guidance to airport staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
Plan and review airport infra facilities in engagement with airport operators to get prominent office space, check-in desks & boarding gates assigned for airline flight operations.
Coordinate with regulators such as immigration/passport control, customs, airport security & health authorities to prepare and suffice the requirements of law of land during flight handling stage.
Collaborate with local authorities and government agencies to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and security protocols.
Coordinate with IT teams to review, test airport systems and its functionalities basis airline requirements to cater smooth operations, perform dry runs as necessary.
Engage with Ground Handlers to review SGHAs and SLAs to identify best manpower talent, deploy finest quality resources and equipment s to handle flight effectively.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations, security protocols, and operational procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Develop and implement contingency plans for handling emergencies and disruptions to minimize impact on operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience of minimum of 10 years of experience in airline Operations as Leading Role as Airport manager
Experience in managing day-to-day airport operations, including airfield operations, terminal operations, and ground handling services.
Experience in ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations and procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and operational systems
Experience in coordinating responses to emergencies, such as aircraft incidents, natural disasters, or security threats.
Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with the local community, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree from a recognized university or above
Relevant industry-recognized qualifications are a plus (e.g. IATA AHM, DCS, Load control, Airline Management, Aviation Law, etc.)
SKILLS
Ability to motivate, energize and lead a team by example.
High familiarity with key airline-decision & management support, analytics tools.
Ability to visualize and pre-empt station needs to help Airport Operations develop and strengthen the Hub and Spoke model.
Help identify the evolving end state and Identify tools that can help achieve that as the company matures and the needs change.
Deep understanding of airport, border agency and airline environment
Thorough understanding of Company policies and international regulatory procedures and all required local regulatory matters.
Ability to handle different operational modes such as normal operations, disruption, Emergency & Accident, and contingency situations Adapts to and embraces constant change.
Fully conversant with MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & SharePoint.
