Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Marine Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi.
Key Technical skills/Design Experience:
- Proven experience and knowledge of BS-6349, CIRIA C683 and other applicable standards
- Reclamation, dredging & ground improvement
- Temporary sheetpile or permanent cut-off wall systems
- Dam embankment design and material specifications
- Quaywalls, jetties, breakwaters
- Offshore piles
- Caisson structures
- Offshore and inshore GI, geophysics, lab tests, bathymetric surveys specifications, interpretive reports & ground models
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Geotechnical Studies: Oversee the preparation of geotechnical studies, designs, and reports, particularly for marine structures.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and junior team members to ensure project success.
- Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, preparing and presenting geotechnical study reports.
- Technical Development: Develop and manage in-house design principles and methodologies to ensure consistency across projects.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure team and company compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Business Development: Engage in business development activities to grow the marine structures and geotechnical subsectors.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with further academic study or practical experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Experience: At least 15 years of total experience, with a minimum of 10 years in marine geotechnics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software such as PLAXIS, WALLAP, slope stability software, and other geotechnical analysis tools.
- Professional Membership: Chartered Engineer Status with active participation in professional organizations like the Institution of Civil Engineers or the British Geotechnical Association.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
