Job Purpose
Assure site Process Safety performance in line with HSE requirements, local regulations, MARAFIQ and applicable industry standards and provide technical expertise and consulting for the process safety and risk management.
Roles and Responsibility
- Ownership of a Management program for MARAFIQ with a focus on process safety hazards, assessing: Risks, and developing best practices and technical solutions for Power plant process safety hazards.
- Promote and enhance the Process Safety culture at Marafiq Yanbu Facilities.
- Participate and document process hazard analyses (PHA) and process safety reviews utilizing HAZOP, What if, Checklist etc. methodologies as per applicable standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the best practice safety concepts for MARAFIQ facilities/processes.
- Serve on the Safety group in all areas of Process Safety and Risk Management.
- Collaborate with local process & plant safety community to develop comprehensive solutions utilizing experience exchanges.
- To support safety team for incident identification for process safety incidents.
- Identifying process hazards, evaluating the risk of those hazards, and assist in the development of effective solutions to mitigate risk.
- Participate in SIL study .as team member for post-HAZOP.
- Maintain all identified process safety hazards records and recommend and track action items.
- Support MARAFIQ OPEX with regard to inherently safe design from a process safety perspective. Provide innovative solutions to problems for process safety of YANBU Utilities and support process risk assessments for existing plants.
- Participated on RCA of process safety incidents.
- Support PES gating system in Process Safety reviews, as deemed necessary.
- Review and provide comments on related Project submittals and Engineering design packages.
- Prepare preliminary scope of work for submission to costumers to be implemented under CAPEX/OPEX.
Minimum Qualification
- University Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience
- 5-7 years Process safety and HAZOP engineering studies in a heavy industrial or utilities environment. Wide exposure to Plant control systems (GTG, STG, Desal, T&D, Wastewater treatment plants, and related DCS), operations and maintenance.
- Experience in performing technical studies and evaluations.
- Experience of maintenance planning using SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems.
