Job Overview: The Procurement Specialist (Joinery & Interior Fit-Out) is responsible for managing the procurement process for joinery & interior fit-out projects within the construction and design industry. This role involves sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that project procurement is cost-effective, timely, and aligned with project goals.
- Vendor Selection: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors with expertise in joinery & interior fit-out materials, equipment, and services.
- Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable contracts and optimize project budgets.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, quality products, and effective communication.
- Material Sourcing: Source and procure joinery & fit-out materials, finishes, fixtures, furniture, and equipment in accordance with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze procurement costs, evaluate cost-saving opportunities, and make data-driven decisions to maximize project profitability.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of fit-out materials, ensuring that materials are on-site as needed and minimizing excess inventory.
- Contract Management: Draft and manage procurement contracts, ensuring that all contractual obligations, terms, and conditions are met by both parties.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with project managers and quality assurance teams to ensure that procured materials meet quality standards and project requirements.
- Lead Time Management: Coordinate with suppliers and project teams to ensure that materials are procured and delivered in accordance with project schedules.
- Budget Adherence: Collaborate with project managers and cost estimators to ensure that procurement activities align with budgetary constraints and financial goals.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and industry-specific standards within the interior fitout sector.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential procurement risks and constraints and develop contingency plans to mitigate any delays or disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, receipts, and supplier communication.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analyses, supplier performance evaluations, and potential cost-saving measures.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and cost fluctuations related to joinery & fit-out materials and services.
- Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, business, or a related field.
Proven experience as a procurement specialist within the joinery & interior fit-out and construction industry.
Strong knowledge of joinery & interior fit-out materials, finishes, and industry-specific suppliers.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
