About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement Specialist - Heavy Equipment to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in expanding our network of heavy equipment owners. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with potential vendors, negotiating terms, and onboarding them. Your expertise in procurement and deep knowledge of the heavy equipment industry will be essential as you build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring a diverse and reliable inventory for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential heavy equipment owners who could benefit from listing their machinery.
- Leverage industry networks, trade shows, and other channels to discover and engage with new vendors.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with equipment owners, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, ensuring ongoing communication and support.
- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors, including pricing, listing conditions, and service agreements.
- Develop strategies to attract high-value vendors and maintain a diverse and competitive equipment inventory.
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant experience in the heavy equipment industry may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- A minimum of 2 years of in procurement, vendor management, or business development, preferably within the heavy equipment or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of the heavy equipment market, including key players, industry trends, and equipment types.
- Availability to travel as needed to meet with potential vendors and attend industry events.
