Job Overview:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement function within the business, ensuring efficient and effective procurement activities from sourcing to purchase for all business goods and services. Reporting to the Director of Non-Clinical Operations, the Procurement Specialist will lead continuous improvement initiatives and develop strategies to achieve financial and operational targets. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements within this domain.

Responsibilities:

• Review existing procurement processes to improve work efficiency, delivery quality, timelines, and cost management.
• Collaborate proactively with project teams and operations management to enhance existing systems.
• Improve procurement services for internal and external customers in quality, cost, and timelines.
• Monitor spend and lead inventory management on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Source new & review existing supplier contracts, issue, and manage tenders.
• Manage all service contracts, including issuing, renewing, closing, and retendering, while overseeing supplier performance.
• Work closely with the Finance Team to manage the purchasing/ERP system.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations to oversee asset management, including new equipment, refurbishment, repairs, and calibrations.
• Ensure all activities are in compliance with existing regulations and policies.
• Responsible for planning of the Annual Procurement Plan & implementing once approved.
• Act as a culture carrier for IHL, demonstrating effective leadership and role-model behaviors. This includes creating a culture of excellent communication and encouraging cross-collaboration to achieve business strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a similar subject.
• 5+ years experience in international procurement within the Healthcare sector is essential.
• CIPP, CIPSC, IACCM certification would be an advantage.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP would be beneficial
• Ability to anticipate implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to prepare for contingencies.
• Experience with Good Distribution Practice related to medical procurement.
• Sound product knowledge within medical supplies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
