We are looking for a proactive individual to support our operations and help embed new processes and standards. In this role, you will advise leaders on cultivation techniques, ensuring rigorous quality control to consistently deliver high-quality products. Key Result Areas:
1. Lead the production team leaders, providing daily guidance and support to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
2. Supervise planting, transplanting, and harvesting activities, ensuring compliance with production schedules and quality standards.
3. Monitor crop growth and health, applying immediate corrective measures to enhance yield and quality.
4. Enforce strict quality control measures, consistently maintaining the highest standards of product quality and freshness.
5. Ensure daily compliance with food safety regulations and certifications, including HACCP and GAP, during all stages of production.
6. Manage inventory levels on a daily basis, ensuring sufficient stock of raw materials, seeds, and growing substrates.
7. Maintain accurate records of daily production data, including yields and waste, for reporting and analysis purposes.
8. Provide training and mentorship to production staff on cultivation techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
9. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the production team, gathering feedback and implementing best practices at the team level.
10. Promote a safe working environment by consistently enforcing adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Qualification:
Bachelor's in agriculture or relevant field.
Experience & Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in agricultural production, preferably in a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) setting such as vertical farming, greenhouse, or hydroponics.
Skills:
Fluency in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety standards
Familiarity with automated systems and technology used in vertical farming, including climate control, irrigation, and nutrient delivery systems.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and schedule
