The University's College of Engineering seeks a Professor of Software Engineering. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, contribute to research, and serve the department and institution.
We emphasize real-world experience for students. We seek candidates passionate about teaching undergraduates and adapting to diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach designated courses as scheduled.
- Develop and maintain course syllabi aligned with university standards.
- Advise students on academics, curricula, and careers.
- Plan and conduct in-class activities, assessments, and exams.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports.
- Supervise senior projects and internships.
- Participate in department and college meetings.
- Contribute to curriculum improvement.
- Engage in research, academic counseling, and committee work.
- Submit required reports and documents.
- Participate in university community service.
- Teach approximately 16 hours per week in the Management Information Systems program.
- Conduct research with a focus on top-tier publications (10% of time).
- Provide ample office hours and student support.
- Participate in department, college, and university service.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Commitment to student success and the University's mission.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant industry or government software engineering experience.
- Ability to integrate practical applications into teaching.
- Experience with curriculum development and accreditation.
- Ability to teach various courses within the Management Information Systems curriculum.
