Role Overview
The Programme Manager has overall responsibility for delivering the Rapiscan DXB project to schedule and budget, working with and taking responsibility from the Bids/Sales team during bid phase and after contract award with responsibility of managing the programme through to Site Acceptance Testing and handover to the Service/After-Sales Department.
The Programme Manager will act as the focal point for the project during its life cycle, for both internal and external customers, and as such being the nominated point of contact for the customer post project award. As an integral member of the leadership team, the Programme Manager will communicate effectively with other engineers, project leads, clients management and client representatives to ensure on-schedule delivery and installation the companys reputation for high quality products and services is maintained.
Responsibilities
Post Project Award
- Manage the Kick-Off meeting to introduce the project(s) to all QA, Service, Operations and engineering staff
- Take responsibility of the project from Sales at the internal Sales Order launch meeting
- Be responsible for the kick-off of a project into the business, this meeting being the formal introduction of a project to all interested parties.
- Reporting weekly, monthly to key stakeholders on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
- Build a close working relationship with all personnel contributing to the project.
- Project control duties included scheduling, estimating and change order preparations.
- Responsible for commercial aspects of the project, change order evaluations and negotiations, estimation, claim analysis.
- To ensure that a Project file is created and maintained to establish and record key information and events relating to individual projects.
- Monitor and control progress of the project through various stages, from Sales to engineering, into Manufacturing and through to Installation and Commissioning.
- Update and work closely with Operations to manage the supply of major bought out components and machinery to ensure timely delivery in accordance with the project scope.
- Represent the Company during meetings and negotiations with the customer during the life of a project, ensuring customer satisfaction whilst maintaining Company performance targets.
- Undertake periodic review of project financials through the review of actual costs reported, and forecast cost to complete remaining work, in relation to budget costs, both at item and project level.
- Responsible for reporting any consistent trends in financial returns to enable the Companys costing system to be maintained.

Qualifications
- Considerable project and programme management experience essential, working on multi-million pound projects over periods from 6 months to 3 years or more.
- Relevant experience will be considered in lieu for formal qualifications.
- Candidates will have ideally Prince2 qualification or equivalent qualification and will ideally have over 10 years Programme Management experience with proven ability to adapt to working overseas in a multi-cultural environment.
- Candidates will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be pro-active, have the ability to multi task and prioritise workload. Must have excellent man-management and interpersonal skills.
- Managed Client facing projects with a demonstrable track record of successful project delivery with proven project management ability, including projects with major budgets and complex scope.
- Knowledge or experience of airport security, baggage handling systems and x-ray baggage scanners would be hugely beneficial to this role
- Must be UAE based, working onsite every day.
