Summary:
The Project Controls Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This position involves implementing and maintaining project controls processes, including cost control, schedule management, and risk management, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Controls Manager will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management to provide accurate and timely information on project performance.
Responsibilities:
- Project Controls Implementation:
- Implement project controls procedures and systems, including cost coding, budget tracking, schedule development, and risk assessment.
- Ensure compliance with project controls standards, guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Tailor project controls processes to align with Saudi building codes, regulations, and cultural sensitivities.
- Cost Control:
- Track and monitor project costs against approved budgets, identifying variances and potential cost overruns.
- Develop and implement cost control measures to mitigate risks and maintain project profitability.
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts, providing insights into project financial performance and potential challenges.
- Schedule Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, integrating all project activities, milestones, and dependencies.
- Monitor schedule progress, track critical path activities, and identify potential delays.
- Implement schedule recovery plans and communicate schedule impacts to project teams and stakeholders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks, including technical, financial, environmental, and regulatory risks.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and implement risk response measures.
- Monitor risk triggers and report on risk status to project teams and management.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular project controls reports, dashboards, and presentations, providing a comprehensive overview of project status, performance, and forecast.
- Analyze project data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance improvement.
- Contribute to project close-out reports, capturing lessons learned and recommendations for future projects.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate project controls information to project teams, stakeholders, and management, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Facilitate project controls meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance project controls awareness and understanding.
- Collaborate with project teams to address project controls challenges and optimize project performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project controls within the real estate and construction industries in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing project controls processes on medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of project controls methodologies, tools, and software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost estimation software.
- Familiarity with Saudi construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
