WSP Middle East are currently looking for a Project Controls Manage with PMO experience to be part of the ongoing project in Riyadh.

Your new role, what's involved

  • Lead a team of professional planners and schedulers to establish the baseline schedule for the entire program, ensuring alignment with PMO governance and project objectives.
  • Evaluate current procedures across the portfolio to create more efficient and cost-effective management of resources in areas such as procurement, change orders, document control, administrative practices, program close-out, and EOT/dispute resolution.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on project performance across the portfolio using qualitative and quantitative tools, ensuring transparency and consistency in project controls.
  • Recommend and implement modifications to project controls systems, improving effectiveness and enabling the achievement of program milestones across all projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor activities across assigned projects to develop and implement project controls procedures, processes, and systems that ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Set up Primavera Project Management System P6 (latest version) for program management across the planning team and stakeholders, ensuring proper integration of project data.
  • Review and update Project Management Plans relevant to project controls to ensure alignment with PMO standards and client requirements.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of the master program schedule for the project portfolio, ensuring all project schedules are integrated and aligned with overall program objectives.
  • Review and analyze schedule data received from external organizations (designers, PMCs, contractors), ensuring compliance with PMO and contractual requirements.
  • Provide direction in the preparation of planning and scheduling control systems across projects, ensuring consistency and adherence to the PMO's governance framework.
  • Collaborate with functions such as procurement, technical, and logistics, providing guidance to the project controls team based on functional requirements and project needs.
  • Assist in the consultant selection process by conducting commercial and technical evaluations for project controls requirements.
  • Establish and deliver formal reporting arrangements on project progress for the client and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and consistency in reporting.
  • Review contract documents and recommend changes for planning and programming aspects, adding new clauses if necessary to enhance project controls.
  • Organize planning workshops/meetings to assist contractors and consultants in resolving planning and project control issues, ensuring alignment with PMO processes.
  • Develop and present what if scenarios for different types of project schedules, providing data-driven support to the client for informed decision-making.
  • Review and analyze claims and EOT requests across the portfolio, providing recommendations to the client based on contractual requirements and project data.
  • Conduct benchmarking and data collection for similar projects, identifying trends and providing insights to improve project planning and execution.
  • Recommend strategies for schedule acceleration across the portfolio, identifying opportunities to optimize timelines without compromising project objectives.
  • Assist in the development of the document control system and communication flow for the portfolio, ensuring efficient management of project documentation.
  • Review construction programs from contractors and analyze them in line with contractual requirements, ensuring alignment with the master schedule.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to the client, providing high-level insights into project performance and schedule adherence.
  • Develop weekly and monthly progress report templates, ensuring consistent reporting and monitoring of progress across the project portfolio.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Must possess (minimum) 15 years of total experience and 8 years GCC experience preferred.
  • Must have an undergraduate engineering degree from a reputable university.
  • Client-side experience managing PMC's, LDC's Cost Consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in PCM of major capital projects.
  • Strong Pre-contract experience managing design and procurement activities.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Independent worker who can work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage resources within the local Project Control team
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills and in the development of project control processes and procedures.
  • PMP or other professional certifications.
  • Advanced MS Office Suits.
  • Experience in using Primavera P6, ACONEX & Oracle suite.
  • Sound knowledge of project controls practices, broad knowledge of cost, risk, change and specific knowledge in earned value management
  • Extensive knowledge of best reporting practices in the areas of dashboards, and KPIs.
