Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cost Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of our projects. This critical role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of cost management processes, supporting the success of projects and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage all OPEX, including revenue accounting, cost accounting, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Maintain and improve internal financial control systems and processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers while managing related controls and systems.
- Analyze and report project costs, including budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Develop cost estimates to accommodate changes in project scope.
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor budgets and approve necessary adjustments.
- Monitor and control costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with project costs.
- Prepare cash flow reports and track actual vs. planned expenditures, providing weekly updates to management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, suppliers, and contractors.
- Align accounting and cost control structures with project phases, scopes, and strategies.
- Establish budgets for control accounts, purchase orders, contracts, and work packages based on cost estimates.
- Utilize cost management systems and tools to support project stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, balancing available funds, loan withdrawals, and upcoming payments.
- Consolidate the annual budget and conduct quarterly forecasting.
- Lead the accounting team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Assist with preparing reports and presentation materials for Board meetings.
- Travel to work sites as required.
- Participate in international meetings, which may occasionally fall outside standard working hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Project Management.
- At least 7 years of professional accounting experience, with 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing accounting teams (AP, AR, general accounting).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze large datasets.
