We have been commissioned by a large company executing turnkey projects in the oil and gas sector. This is a recruitment, and we are acting as a recruitment firm for this very specific opportunity.

Note that the ideal candidate must have experience in Europe or the United States to apply for this position.

We are looking for an experienced and highly qualified EPC Project Director to lead the management of projects worth several hundred million dollars in the oil and gas sector, both onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong background in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. This role requires a strategic leader with exceptional project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to oversee projects from conception to completion.

YOUR MISSION:

1. Project Management:

o Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale oil and gas projects, both onshore and offshore.

o Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

o Implement robust project management methodologies and best practices.

o Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, construction, and operations departments.

1. Technical Expertise:

o Provide technical guidance and expertise in executing oil and gas projects.

o Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

o Review and approve designs, specifications, and operational documentation.

1. Stakeholder Management:

o Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.

o Manage relationships with key stakeholders to align project objectives and expectations.

o Organize regular project status meetings and provide updates to senior management.

1. Risk Management:

o Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impact.

o Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure contingency plans are in place.

o Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Key Competencies:

• Degree in mechanical, civil engineering, or technical project management (engineering degree preferred).
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on EPC project management.
• Proven track record as a project director managing projects over USD 300 million in onshore or offshore environments.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of operational principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent project management skills, with PMP certification or similar preferred.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience working in Europe or the United States is MANDATORY.

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience in the Middle East.
• Familiarity with local regulations and business practices.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in managing project budgets.
• Proficiency in French, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese is a plus.
