Job Description

The Project Manager will be reporting directly to Director of Projects, on a daily basis the Project Manager will liaise with Lead Design Consultant / Construction Supervisor, Vendors, General Contractor, Operator and Licensor throughout all phases of the project, including design, procurement, construction, handover and closeout.

Responsible for overseeing, coordinating and managing the project administration, construction packages, tender evaluations, construction management and overseeing project close out activities for a specific area or discipline on the Project.

Job Scope:

  • Responsible for developing delivery strategy with Projects Team based on program work break down and organisational structure
  • Responsible for developing target dates for the specific work areas in conjunction with the PMC
  • Ensure that the design and construction services contracts are procured and delivered in accordance with project brief, cost plan and master schedule
  • Interact, coordinate and manage the lead consultants duties and activities in conjunction with the PMC to ensure timely completion and compliance with the contractual standards.
  • Interact, coordinate and manage the Main Contractors duties and activities in conjunction with the PMC to ensure timely completion and compliance with the contractual standards.
  • Support the Projects Team in the preparation of future bidders list, contract documents, tender evaluation and award in conjunction with the Contracts Manager
  • Assist the Projects Team in negotiations as required
  • With support from Contract / Project Controls Managers hold ultimate responsibility for all contract and project controls procedures, including contract preparation, procurement, change management, evaluation and recommendation on variation and claims, budget and cost control, project planning and schedule compliance, reporting, etc
  • Work closely with the QA/QC and HSE Manager to ensure that Quality and HSE goals are met in the design and construction of the works
  • Manage and coordinate logistics issues with the Logistic and Permits Manager
  • Oversee construction supervision activities performed by the lead consultant supervision team to ensure timely compliance of the duties required by the contract in conjunction with the QA/QC Manager
  • Responsible for coordinating interface issues within and other delivery managers to avoid potential delivery delays
  • Ensure timely actions to resolve critical design and construction issues by coordinating with the Lead Consultant, main Contractor and Sub Contractors and developing solutions for the approval by the Projects Team.
  • Assist the Projects Team in negotiating and responding to design changes and construction claims.
  • Co-ordinates with the Construction Infrastructure Superintendent, Lead Consultant and Construction Supervision Team as necessary throughout the works
  • Coordinate project close out activities
  • Ensure compliance with project protocols (Tender Committee Approvals, Reporting, Aconex Communication, etc)
  • Maintain project action plan and communicate with Projects Team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or Post Graduate degree in engineering or suitable equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to the real estate market with min 5 years experience in GCC
  • 8 - 10 years experience in Project Management with min 5 years in the GCC
  • Proven experience of managing projects with capex 1-2 billion AED.
  • Ability to manage team of 20-30 strong delivery team.
  • Experience in international contracting mechanisms e.g. FIDIC
  • Experienced user of MS Office.
  • Fluency in English language both written and spoken
