The position
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Project Strategic purchasing leader to join AEG Power Solutions, leader in power conversion ETO solutions. This role is pivotal in reducing procurement costs for large-scale projects, with a primary focus on battery systems, electrical components, and transformers. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, you will manage a 20M annual spend, driving strategic supplier negotiations, identifying alternative sourcing options, and securing competitive deals.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute cost-saving strategies for large project procurements.
- Drive the negotiation with quotation team to choose the best partner.
- Breakdown the cost of our Buyout systems ( Electromechanical systems, Panel distribution..)
- Leading project of cost reduction on Product with the factories to improve the margin of the projects and new product range.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality standards.
- Analyze market trends to identify new suppliers and optimize supply chain performance.
- Negotiate contracts with a focus on long-term savings and supplier reliability.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a strong plus.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Commodity Buyer, Category Leader, or similar procurement role within the electrical equipment, power systems, or switchgear industries.
- Proven track record in leading high-stakes negotiations, securing competitive pricing, and establishing long-term, reliable supplier agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cost breakdowns and analyze procurement costs for complex systems, particularly in electromechanical and electrical components, to uncover significant cost-saving opportunities.
- Experience leading cross-functional cost-reduction initiatives, working with factory and production teams to enhance project margins and optimize costs for both new and existing product lines.
- Deep understanding of market trends, with a proactive approach to sourcing alternative suppliers and adapting to market shifts to benefit the company's strategic goals.
- Availability for occasional travel for supplier meetings and project needs.
