Job Summary:
This role involves proofreading clinic letters produced by transcriptionists, ensuring accuracy in spelling, grammar, formatting, and other details.
Key responsibilities include meeting daily proofreading targets, verifying patient information, and completing assigned letters within a 36-hour turnaround.
The role requires actively managing and responding to requests from consultants and PAs, checking shared mail regularly, and keeping the team leader informed of any long-term issues. Additional tasks include providing feedback to transcriptionists, reporting quality results, helping with scorecards, and handling other tasks assigned by the team leader.
Job Description:
- Match clinic letters transcriptionists produce against dictations and review them for any spelling, grammar, or formatting errors, as well as other inconsistencies.
- Reach daily target of Proofread minutes based on work requirements (45+min/day).
- Match specific information, e.g. patient demographics, scientific info, contacts details, etc. with patient records and online sources.
- Finish all assigned clinic letters within 36 hours from the time of receiving consultants dictations.
- Fulfil requests received internally/externally from LIPS consultants and their personal assistants and ensure the requests are fulfilled within the set timeframe.
- Check Shared Mailbox on hourly basis and actively respond to queries and requests received and follow up on them.
- Always keep their team leader updated regarding any issues that requires long-term follow-up.
- Follow day-to-day work technicalities and procedures to finalize daily targets and goals.
- Provide feedback to transcriptionists.
- Report on quality of transcriptionists output to team leader.
- Help with quality score cards of transcriptionists.
- Perform other tasks assigned by team leader.
Job Requirements:
- 1- 3 years of experience as a proofreader.
- University degree in any related discipline.
- English studies preferred; medical experience is a plus.
- Advanced English listening skills: Able to listen to, understand and comprehend different accents and indiscernible words with high accuracy.
- Advanced English Language: Have through knowledge of English sentence structure, phrases, clauses, grammar and recognize implicit meanings.
- High keyboarding skills: Able to type not less than 45w/min (preferably touch typist).
- Excellent research skills: Able to browse and surf the internet to find specific info related to consultants, locations, medical information, etc.
- High Accuracy & Focus: Attention to detail, able to spot spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, etc.
- Experience with transcription software and tools is a plus.
