The Role

As the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. Your strong negotiation skills and attention to detail will be vital in supporting the operational needs of Red Sea Global Hospitality.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management: Oversee the purchasing process, including vendor selection, order placement, and delivery coordination, ensuring timely availability of supplies.
  • Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing to support the organization's objectives.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and trends, implementing strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Budget Adherence: Ensure purchasing activities align with budgetary constraints and financial goals, providing regular updates to management on procurement expenditures.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate and ensure the quality of products received, addressing any discrepancies or issues with vendors promptly and professionally.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends that could impact procurement strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to understand their purchasing needs and provide support in sourcing the appropriate products and services.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and vendor performance metrics for management review.

Qualifications and Standards

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 3 years experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the hospitality or food and beverage sectors.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and building successful vendor relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in market analysis and budget management to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite; familiarity with inventory management systems is advantageous.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead a team and drive performance improvements.
