Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement QA plans and procedures specific to substation projects.
- Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, design documents, and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
- Perform audits and inspections to identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish key quality metrics and monitor project performance against established benchmarks.
- Implement QC procedures and protocols to verify the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship.
- Conduct regular inspections of substation components, installations, and construction activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Document and report non-conformities, deficiencies, and deviations from project standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare regular progress reports and quality performance metrics for project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in QA/QC roles, preferably in the power industry with a focus on substations.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as IEEE, NEC, IEC, and NEMA pertaining to substation design and construction.
- Proficiency in QA/QC methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- Experience with inspection and testing procedures for substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and protective relays.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
