Job Overview:The Junior Mechanical Engineer in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) department is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality standards in mechanical engineering projects. This role involves ensuring that all products, components, and systems meet specified standards and customer requirements, through inspections, testing, and documentation. The Junior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the QA/QC team to identify and address quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance:- Assist in the development and implementation of QA/QC procedures and standards for mechanical engineering projects.
Review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet quality requirements and industry standards.- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on potential quality issues or improvements.
Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with QA/QC standards.
Conduct inspections of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems during various stages of production and installation.- Perform dimensional checks, material verification, and visual inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Monitor production processes to ensure that they adhere to established quality control procedures.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
Testing and Validation:
- Support the execution of mechanical testing procedures, including pressure testing, load testing, and performance testing.
Document test results and compare them against specified criteria to determine if products meet quality standards.
- Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from quality requirements, and assist in root cause analysis.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
Prepare QA/QC reports, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Assist in the preparation of quality control plans and inspection and test plans (ITPs) for specific projects.
Ensure that all quality-related documentation is properly filed and accessible for audits and reviews.Non-Conformance Management:
Identify and report non-conformities or defects in materials, components, or processes.
- Assist in the investigation of non-conformities, determining their root causes, and proposing corrective and preventive actions.
Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions to ensure that issues are resolved and do not recur.Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and reducing defects.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and production teams on potential areas for improvement in design and manufacturing processes.
Stay updated on industry best practices and new quality assurance methods to contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all QA/QC activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to the development of safe working practices within the QA/QC department.
Collaboration and Communication:

- Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of QA/QC processes, standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques, such as calipers, micrometers, and non-destructive testing methods.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and material standards.
