About Us:
Energize O&M LLC is a joint venture between Masdar Specialized Technical Services O&M LLC (Masdar STS) and EDF EN Middle East (EDFR). Our mission is to deliver excellence in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy power plants, ensuring sustainability, reliability and innovation in all our O&M and Asset Management activities.
Our operating plant is the 3rd phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai located in the Saih al Dahal Area which is about 50 km south of Dubai or 20 km southeast of the small town of Al Lisaili
The plant has a capacity of 800MW using photovoltaic solar panels and provides clean energy for over 240,000 residences in Dubai and contributes to climate change mitigation by offsetting 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
Job Purpose
The Quality and Operations Excellence Manager is also responsible for challenging the existing maintenance plan and supporting the field teams to identify optimization strategies to improve the OPEX expenses ensuring that the contractual agreements are fulfilled, the existing warranties are maintained, the recommendations of the manufacturers according to the existing manuals are considered in addition to the applicable standards and good industry practices. In addition, The Quality and Operations Excellence Manager has to ensure that all the strategy is implemented in the CMMS and that the respective reporting is digitalized.
It is also within his responsibilities to follow up closely the open warranty claims together with the technical teams, ensure that strategic spare parts are identified and available to avoid any unavailability, and ensure that all required RCA are properly addressed, implemented, and closed and actively participate with the main OEM.
The Quality and Operations Excellence Manager role is considered a role model for QHSE ensuring that all activities at the site are performed safely, in compliance with environmental requirements, and the best practices to ensure the best conditions for the project assets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and protocols specific to the solar power plant.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify quality improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare all quality documents and checklists as per OEM standards, ensuring activities are performed according to O&M standards.
- Evaluate team maintenance performance and product knowledge, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance quality.
- Identify and analyse irregularities in O&M team activities, ensuring document availability on the server.
- Provide assessments, action plans, and root cause analysis reporting to concerned managers.
- Monitor maintenance activities as per company quality and OEM requirements.
- Inspect and examine field teams, reporting any defects or deformities observed in site quality checks and reporting.
- Ensure materials are available and defect-free before use, with valid calibration.
- Define and monitor KPIs to assess and improve plant performance.
- Lead initiatives to optimize processes and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and cost-saving measures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of improvement projects and initiatives.
- Manage and analyze Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes to identify and address underlying issues.
- Oversee warranty management to ensure timely resolution of claims and optimal use of warranty services.
- Create, implement, and manage operational workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
- Analyze existing workflows and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure that all projects are executed at a high level of productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop strategies to improve project outcomes and reduce operational costs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovative solutions and best practices.
- Implement process enhancements and cost-saving measures.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
Professional Experience & Technical Knowledge:
- Electrical & Mechanical proven experience, up to 132kV plus substation protection and PV field knowledge.
- Awareness of local and international quality standards.
- Familiarity with plant equipment and the ability to read electrical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Ability to perform field inspections to ensure implementation of company quality requirements.
- Valid driver's license.
- DEWA experience with specific protocols, standards and requirements (DEWA certificates is a plus);
- Experience in Microsoft Operating System;
- Experience in protection relays software;
- Experience in SCADA systems;
- Experience in CMMS systems;
- Experience in databases and data analytics;
- Electric/Electronic knowledge;
- Proficiency in English communication.
- Adherence to ENERGIZE O&M policies and procedures
Languages Known:
- English (Very good at speaking & understanding)
