Description
A quality control officer is responsible for monitoring, guiding, and overseeing the establishment of field operation systems to support the prevention and mitigation of food safety and quality issues.
Ultimately, their duties include overseeing the implementation of quality management programs, including assessment, inspections, and ensuring the companys products meet recognized quality and safety standards
Requirements
- Conduct regular inspections of products and raw materials to confirm they meet quality standards that match pre-determined specifications such as PRP, and GMP requirements.
- Maintain current and accurate records of all food safety inspections and test results to ensure the execution of proposed corrective action.
- Inspect the facilities to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained to meet food safety requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining food safety, quality data, and information management and monitoring all departments progress.
- Implement and monitor ISO 22000 including HACCP and food safety standards in the kitchen.
- Conduct food safety and quality training relevant to the company and ISO scopes. This includes providing continuous coaching and guidance as required, to enable awareness and high performance of staff.
- Work on the traceability system and FIFO strategy to ensure proper storage of raw materials and leftovers.
- Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Respond to incidents of non-conformances/customer complaints and initiate corrective action in collaboration with the production team.
- Analyze and address possible reasons for product defects and quality lapses.
- Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or relevant degree in Food Science and nutrition.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in the field of the food industry.
- HACCP and/or ISO 22000:2018 certificate is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft products and other computer software.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills.
