Job Summary
The Quality Engineer or Quality Specialist (Chemistry) will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes and products. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting material tests, developing quality procedures, and collaborating with various teams to maintain and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will have a chemistry background or engineering background, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are
Oversee and analyze production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards
Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes and improvements
Audit our systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements
Conduct tests and analyses on raw materials and finished products to verify their adherence to quality and safety standards.
Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures
Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible
Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order)
Develop and implement quality procedures and standards to enhance production processes and product quality
Set and track quality assurance goals (e.g. reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by 20%)
Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance
Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Lead and participate in root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective solutions.
Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness among all employees.
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:
Bachelor s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry (Quality Specialist) or a related field.
Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer (QA/QC) or similar roles in a manufacturing settings.
Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
In-depth understanding of technical documentation
Familiarity with statistical analysis
Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, particularly for testing plastic materials.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and report generation.
Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards.
Plus Requirements:
Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
Previous experience in a similar role within the PVC Gasket or plastics manufacturing industry.
Previous experience in Home Appliances manufacturing specifically Refrigerators.
Knowledge of ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Experience in quality control and assurance in a manufacturing setting.
