We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a Civil Engineering degree and at least 7 years of experience. You'll need to be skilled in AutoCAD 3D and have a knack for turning drawings into Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Your job is crucial in keeping construction projects on budget and ensuring costs are managed effectively.
Responsibilities:
1. Estimation: Figure out how much construction projects will cost by calculating materials, labor, and equipment expenses.
2. BOQ Preparation: Create detailed lists of materials and quantities needed for projects based on drawings.
3. Budget Management: Work with project managers to set and monitor budgets, looking for ways to save money without sacrificing quality.
4. Tender Support: Help prepare documents for project bids by detailing costs and pricing.
5. Value Engineering: Suggest alternative materials or methods to save money without compromising quality.
6. Cost Control: Keep track of project expenses and make sure they stay within budget.
7. Contract Oversight: Review invoices and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
8. Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial risks and suggest ways to avoid them.
9. Communication: Keep everyone informed about cost-related matters and maintain good relationships with clients and contractors.
10. Documentation: Keep detailed records of costs, contracts, and project correspondence.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2. 7+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and relevant software.
4. Strong analytical skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and in teams.
8. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PQS).
9. Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
