The Quay crane operator is responsible for operating the ship to shore gantry crane in order to perform the operation of lifting containers from wharf onto the ship and lifting containers from the ship to the wharf.
- Perform startup inspection for the Ship to Shore Quay crane prior to start the operation and make sure all pre-checks are functional.
Perform the operations of loading and unloading from and to the vessel according to instructions from the quay clerk as well as performing the operation of lashing and unlashing by lifting and moving the lashing cage
- Is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading containers, by quay crane on and off a ship according to the ships loading plan.
Treat containers with care and make sure that vessel operation is free of damage to the containers, crane and vessel.- Following the ships plans to make sure containers is loaded in the correct place
Ensure productivity remains at a rate that meets deadlines
- Be willing to work rotating shift and any shift, and cover for vacations, an public holydays, and overtime as per HR policy
Ensure that planned activities are in compliance with HSSE policies & procedures.- Achieve the Companys and its customers expectations with regard to operational efficiency, productivity and reliability.
Performing any other duties as allotted by a manager or superiors
