Job Purpose:
The jobholder is responsible for writing and submitting grant applications, designing and conducting clinical or experimental studies in the field of innovation and technology, and disseminating data under the supervision of the head of the Innovation Center.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and evaluate experiments, develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Maintain update of the most current research in the field of innovation and HealthTech as well as work closely with faculty, students, clinicians and other researchers to advance projects that explore innovative health solutions and technologies.
- Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under direction of the /Faculty Member, apply for research grants under direction of Senior Scientist/Faculty Member, attend and give lectures as well as bring new expertise to the research program. In addition, disseminate scientific results including poster and oral presentation at scientific meetings.
- Work closely with colleagues in different disciplines within the center, MBRU, Dubai Health and academic partners (other universities) as well as hospitals, clinics, private.
- Identify, write, and submit grant applications under the directions of the PI and head of the center.
- Ensure that stated safety policies, procedures and instructions are adhered to, and that the necessary records and checks are always maintained including periodical inspection of relevant equipment and report, request for maintenance.
- Maintain inventory and own responsibility for proper handling of Innovation center equipment, lab consumables, devices, reagents and kits and initiates purchasing requests, as necessary through the reporting manager.
- Participate in other academic activities as directed by the head of the center.
Self- Developmental Responsibilities:
- Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are monitored and achieved during the year.
- Takes ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs in consultation with the reporting manager and working towards bridging the gaps through various means which go beyond just training.
- Understands the competencies relevant to his/her role and works towards displaying as well as developing these effectively.
- Keeps abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional networks.
Educational Requirements:
- MSc or Ph.D. in health sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or Innovation related field.
- Extensive research experience at the higher education level, with a proven track record of excellence.
Experience:
A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in research
