Job Description
The Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to manage the operations of the Perception and Active Cognition Lab.
The Research Assistant / Lab Manager will provide administrative support for the activities of the PAC Lab and its Principal Investigator, David Melcher. Tasks include assisting in the recruitment and managing of volunteer participants for the Lab research studies, overseeing with the Principal Investigator the ethics approval process and documentation, organizing Lab meetings and activities, assistance with budgeting, equipment requests, purchases, travel requests and reimbursements, onboarding of new students and research staff, and other support as needed to maintain a happy and productive lab. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of postdoctoral researchers, graduate students and undergraduate students. Depending on the skills, background and interests of the Research Assistant, in addition to the lab management tasks there is the possibility of leading your own research project, in addition to being a key member of other projects.
Applicants must have Bachelor's degree and demonstrated experience related to the lab manager role. The ability to learn and use administrative software is essential for the role. The role also requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively follow through on tasks.
