The researchers (Samreen Malik and David Blakeslee) at New York University Abu Dhabi seek to recruit a Research Assistant (RA). The details are provided below.

The Research Assistant will work on multiple exciting studies conducted in South Asian countries such as India and Pakistan. These studies are led by Prof. Samreen Malik, who specializes in human capital development and environmental issues related to technology adoption in South Asia, and Prof. David Blakeslee, who focuses on sustainable development initiatives that address pressing environmental concerns.

The Research Assistant will support cutting-edge research in the development sector in South Asia and will contribute to all aspects of the project cycle, from planning and design to data collection and analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking hands-on research experience and considering pursuing a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Development Economics, International Development, or related fields.

Prof. Malik and Prof. Blakeslee are committed to mentoring their Research Assistant, many of whom have gone on to pursue Master's and Ph.D. degrees.

In addition to working with the principal investigators, the Research Assistant will have the opportunity to join a thriving community of researchers, including other RAs and post-doctoral fellows who share an interest in development issues in South Asia.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Excellent programming skills, past experience and the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in teams are required.

The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
