WSP are looking for a Resident Engineer - Electrical LC to join a prestigious infrastructure construction project based in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The project involves the construction supervision of tunnels, roads, highways, sewerage and utilities.
Candidates should have experience of working on similar infrastructure projects and handling low current electrical systems.
Your new role, what's involved
Assist the Chief Resident Engineer in the contractual duties on site including management and direction of a team of inspectors and in reporting on progress, safety, quantities, quality control and any proposed design changes during construction execution by the contractor
Learn and adopt project quality control and quality assurance procedures for the supervision works and contributes in continuous improvement measures.
Support with audits required as per contract requirements
Understand and adopt construction management and control techniques and well as corporate policies and procedures
Allocate the duties and responsibilities to the Surveyors and Works Inspectors
Resolve day to day technical issues with the Contractor and contributes to solutions for problems encountered during construction
Maintain contemporary records of the progress of the works
Assist and support the Safety Manager to ensure Safety Standards are met
Report quality defects to the Chief Resident Engineer for further action
Schedule Inspectors activities to avoid undue delays to Contractor work on site
Ensure proper documentation on site as per project contract and company policy and procedures.
Reviews shop drawings, field mark-ups, and as built drawings prepared by the constrictor.
Coordinate with relevant stockholders and all other utilities on site.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
Minimum fifteen (15) years post graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of structures and tunnels in major highway and infrastructure projects
Demonstrate effective leadership and high commitment in order to achieve goals
Familiar with contractual matters related to construction projects
Sound report writing skills
Ability to cope rapidly with challenging situations and keen to solve them in a proactive manner
A co-operative and helpful attitude to colleagues and clients
Self-motivating, reliable, consistent, and mature approach to work
Able to work independently and in teams
Acceptance of responsibility for work carried out
Flexible and innovative approach to work
