The Role

As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will manage the restaurant team, maintain high service standards, and ensure the restaurant meets both operational and financial targets. In collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager, you will drive the restaurant's overall performance, implement operational strategies, maintain guest satisfaction, and lead the team to deliver outstanding service in a refined and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Red Sea Global Hospitality team members are encouraged to innovate continuously in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As Restaurant Manager, you will need to:

Operational Oversight & Daily Management:

Supervise the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout each shift. Oversee front-of-house operations, including reservations, guest seating, service flow, and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the restaurant. Ensure that service quality is consistently exceptional, and guests dining experiences exceed expectations.

Guest Experience & Satisfaction:

Prioritize guest satisfaction by ensuring all interactions are pleasant, positive, and personalized. Handle guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, taking immediate corrective action as necessary. Maintain a strong presence in the restaurant, engaging with guests and ensuring their needs are met throughout their dining experience. Actively seek feedback and implement strategies to improve service quality and overall guest satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, motivate, and develop the restaurant team to deliver exceptional service in line with company standards. Ensure that staff are well-trained, knowledgeable about the menu, and equipped with the skills to anticipate and fulfill guest needs. Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, recognition, and continuous learning. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team members professional growth.

Staff Scheduling & Labor Management:

Create and manage work schedules for restaurant team members, ensuring optimal staffing levels during peak and off-peak periods. Coordinate with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure efficient scheduling that supports high service standards and financial goals while controlling labor costs.

Operational & Service Standards Compliance:

Ensure that all service standards, restaurant policies, and health and safety regulations are consistently met. Monitor food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and presentation to ensure they adhere to hotel and brand standards. Conduct regular inspections of restaurant areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and operational requirements.

Revenue & Cost Management:

Assist in managing the restaurant's budget, revenue, and cost control strategies. Analyze daily financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for revenue generation. Implement effective cost-control measures to optimize profitability while maintaining the highest level of guest service and dining quality. Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to set pricing, manage inventory, and implement effective waste-reduction strategies.

Menu Knowledge & Product Presentation:

Ensure that the restaurant team is well-versed in the menu offerings, including daily specials and wine pairings. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure that food quality and presentation consistently meet or exceed expectations. Maintain a focus on guest preferences and seasonal changes to adapt the menu and ensure it remains fresh, exciting, and reflective of the brand's standards.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination, particularly during peak times. Liaise with the Front Office team to ensure smooth guest transitions from reservation to dining. Coordinate with the Events team to plan and execute special events, promotions, and private dining experiences that enhance guest engagement and drive restaurant revenue.

Health, Safety & Hygiene Standards:

Ensure the restaurant complies with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Monitor food handling, cleanliness, and hygiene practices within the restaurant to ensure they meet required standards. Ensure that all food and beverage equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly, following appropriate safety guidelines.

Promotions & Marketing Support:

Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager and the Marketing team to develop and promote special events, seasonal promotions, and unique dining experiences to increase restaurant visibility and guest engagement. Support the creation and execution of marketing campaigns that drive traffic and enhance the restaurant's brand.

Qualifications and Standards

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in restaurant management is an asset
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably within luxury hospitality or high-end dining environments. Previous experience in managing a large team is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with a focus on developing team members and driving operational excellence.
  • Guest Service Excellence: A strong commitment to guest satisfaction with a passion for providing memorable dining experiences. Ability to handle guest complaints or issues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, optimizing costs, and driving revenue growth in a restaurant setting. Strong understanding of revenue generation and cost control within the food and beverage sector.
  • Operational Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house service, guest flow management, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests, team members, and management effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly address operational challenges, guest concerns, or staffing issues while maintaining a high level of service.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure that service, food quality, and restaurant cleanliness meet or exceed the brand's standards.
