Duties and Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to):
Be a visible safety leader by demonstrating and reinforcing adherence to ARO's vision, mission and values and promoting personal accountability for health, safety, and the environment.
Maintain a strong presence at the worksite (approximately 75% of the working day), at all high-risk and high-activity areas (i.e., deck and drill floor).
Plan their daily activities based on a risk-based methodology, utilizing the operational 72 hour lookahead, etc.
Promote AROs Golden Rules and ensure each employee understands their application.
Promote AROs Perfect Day to embed the concept into the rig culture.
Encourage participation in the Stop Observe Act Report (SOAR) program by facilitating safety performance conversations by all persons on board. Review and discuss all critical SOAR Card findings
Ensure Stop Work Authority (SWA) obligation is understood by all persons on board and exercised promptly. Where required, coach individuals on the correct SWA practices.
Monitor compliance with RMS and control of work systems such as Permit to Work, Toolbox Talk, Risk Assessment, Rescue Planning etc.
Conduct safety inspections and audits per RMS requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of RMS.
Support the completion and close out of internal/external audits.
Ensure communication of HSE policies, standards and procedures.
Contribute to crew safety meetings and supervisors meetings by presenting topics/findings from the week.
Facilitate the discussion of lessons learned from incidents, audits and safety observations.
Spot-check the proper selection and proper fit of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain awareness of substances hazardous to health and the requirements for the correct stowage, use, handling, and PPE.
Deliver engaging and effective safety training program and facilitate trig induction and orientation.
Ensure the implementation of the Short Service Employee (SSE) process and on-the-job training program.
Support the investigation of safety incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Liaise with customer representatives and regulatory bodies as necessary.
Perform emergency duties as per the rig station bill and Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
Analyze safety data and trends to define areas of improvement on the rig.
Produce weekly report for HSE Manager.
