Responsible for developing and optimizing structural and functional aspects of road and pavement systems. Their duties are to create durable, safe, and cost-effective pavement designs that can withstand traffic loads and environmental conditions.
- Performing roadway geometric design for horizontal and vertical alignment from preliminary to final design.
- Preparing technical designs in accordance with design standards using roadway design software.
- Preparing Concept design for drainage and runoff.
- Preparing designs that do not damage natural plant and wildlife environments.
- Overseeing road construction.
- Preparing geo referenced drawings and survey data extraction for buildings, bridges and highways for execution using AUTOCAD & AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D
- Develop highway concept designs, including all required drawings and reports including horizontal alignment, vertical profile, roundabout, intersection and interchange design, calculation of earthwork, cross-sections, super elevation data, junctions and roundabout grading, parking facilities, and signing & marking.
- Working with other professionals to build and maintain roads.
- Finding new solutions to transport problems
- Planning for highway maintenance and improvement projects
- Planning and supervising new projects.
- Coordinate the work between Roads Department and the company's other departments.
- Cooperate with the infrastructure department to align the level of infrastructure with the new level after paving the roads.
- Prepare the final item check list.
- Inform the concerned entities if any obstacles appear.
- Generating technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by direct manager.
Educational background:
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering ( Highway Engineering )
- 7+ years of experience in Roads Designs
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Roadway Design and Engineering Software such as Civil3D, MicroStation, and Inroads.
- Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design.
