Job Brief
The Sales Manager of
Cold Stores will collaborate closely with the marketing team to identify opportunities, create compelling value propositions, and effectively communicate the unique features and benefits of our
cold storage facilities to potential clients. The primary goal is to ensure the cold storage facility is rented out or utilized to its full potential.
Also, will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the business unit, focusing on optimizing store occupancy in line with industry standards. The role involves enforcing organizational policies, hygiene, and safety standards to enhance the competitive advantage of the
Cold Store in local and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Excellent Customer Experience
- Maintain and develop customer relationships through ethical sales methods to optimize service quality, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
Market Intelligence and Business Development
- Anticipate, research, and report on changes in planning, laws, procedures, tariffs, and regulations.
- Collaborate with subordinates and internal stakeholders to ensure knowledge integration into the department's strategy.
Training and Development
- Effectively manage and train staff to ensure their skills are aligned with the business unit's objectives.
- Develop annual employee welfare programs and a rewards system to boost workforce morale.
Business Operations Support
- Collaborate with other departments to establish and maintain effective support for the overall growth and operations of the organization.
- Maintain relationships with government agencies, clients, banks, and external stakeholders.
Statutory and Regulatory Compliance
- Adhere to local and international Quality, Health, and Safety guidelines.
- Ensure business unit policies align with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Strategic Business Management
- Lead the development and implementation of a business unit strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Provide strategic advice on risk and opportunity considerations to senior management.
Business Unit Profit and Loss Management
- Manage business development activities to achieve profitability and revenue targets.
- Assist in preparing capital budgets and ensure the financial integrity of the business unit.
Performance Management
- Establish Performance Management Frameworks, set KPIs, and lead periodic performance reporting sessions.
- Define Service Level Agreements and targets for business units using external service providers.
Continuous Improvement
- Ensure continuous improvements to systems and processes for better reporting.
- Enhance the effectiveness of the business development team through constant improvements.
People Management
- Supervise and guide direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and identify training requirements.
- Ensure HR and business standards of conduct are established and complied with.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Direct and maintain a safety program for all employees in the warehouse.
- Ensure proper safety equipment and procedures are in place.
Key Interactions
- Internal: Group Chairman, CEO, Board of Directors, Group Executives, Division Heads, Department Managers, and all other employees.
- External: Client's Representatives, Service Providers, Advisory Committee, Relevant Regulatory Bodies (Municipality, Environment).
Technical Competencies
- Education, Special/Technical Certifications, and Area of Experience to be determined by the HR department.
