Sales Manager - Ductile Iron Pipes and Fittings Sales
Position Overview: The Sales manager for Ductile Iron Pipes and Fittings is responsible for generating new sales, maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets within a designated territory. This role involves direct customer interaction, understanding client needs, and providing tailored solutions. The Sales Representative will work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and understand market trends.
- Generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
- Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet those needs.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential customers.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company policies and procedures.
Product Knowledge:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's products, including features, benefits, and applications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor products to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers as needed.
Sales Reporting:
- Track and report on sales activities, opportunities, and progress towards targets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales data in the CRM system.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to the sales manager.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales team and other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer management.
- Participate in team meetings and share insights on market trends and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience 4+ in sales, preferably in the ductile iron pipes and fittings industry or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
