- Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Model Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in crafting physical structures, including prototypes and architectural building mock-ups, using a variety of materials and techniques. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, creativity, and technical knowledge to produce top-quality models.
Create detailed architectural models and prototypes based on design specifications and blueprints.
- Utilize various materials such as wood, plastic, foam, metal, and composite materials to construct models.
Apply different techniques, including cutting, shaping, sanding, painting, and assembling, to achieve precise and high-quality finishes.- Interpret and work from technical drawings, CAD files, and other design documentation.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and ensure accurate representation of designs.
- Maintain and operate tools and machinery safely and effectively, including laser cutters, CNC machines, 3D printers, and hand tools.
Perform quality control checks to ensure models meet the required standards and specifications.- Manage project timelines and deliver models within agreed-upon deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Proven experience as a Model Maker, preferably in the architectural or product design industries.
- Strong knowledge of various materials and fabrication techniques.
Proficiency in using tools and machinery relevant to model making, including laser cutters, CNC machines, and 3D printers.- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.- A degree or certification in model making, industrial design, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
