Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately document patient encounters, including history, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Assist respiratory therapists and physicians during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all relevant details are recorded.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
  • Maintain organized and efficient documentation processes within the department.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of documentation and reports generated from patient encounters.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and cohesive patient care.
  • Support administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

Qualifications

  • Medical bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in respiratory care, is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory care.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
