Job Description: The Senior Accountant at Travel Zone will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our organization. This position involves overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure the integrity of financial information, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the overall financial success of Travel Zone.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Review and reconcile balance sheets and income statements.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against them.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Manage and oversee tax compliance and filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and related transactions.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability.
- Support the finance team in various ad hoc projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software] is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing financial operations for a subsidiary or business unit.
- Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and practices.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
