Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial management and compliance for our growing start-up, with a focus on both Qatar and USA accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with start-ups, a strong understanding of international financial regulations, particularly in Qatar and the USA, and be highly proficient in QuickBooks. Perfect written and spoken English is essential for clear communication with international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with both Qatar and USA accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT, tax returns, and other regulatory filings in both Qatar and the USA.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for efficient and accurate financial management.
- Utilize QuickBooks to manage the company's financial data, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the company's strategic growth and business decisions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within start-ups.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar and USA accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant accounting software.
- Exceptional command of English (both written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with international or cross-border financial operations.
- Experience in supporting high-growth start-ups with financial planning and strategy.
- Familiarity with other financial software systems.
