We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Qatar. In this role your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting functions, with a primary focus on upholding precision, adherence to regulatory standards, and the optimization of our financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all necessary adjustments, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and oversee the chart of accounts. Ensure proper coding of transactions and adherence to accounting standards.
- Accounts Receivable (AR) Process Customer reconciliation and Customer Follow-up
- Accounts Payable (AP) Process and vendor Reconciliation
- Fixed asset accounting- handing group Fixed asset register including proper recording of depreciation.
- Dealing with banks on day-to-day basis and Bank Reconciliation
- Petty Cash accounting Will be handling petty cash accounting.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Compliance with provisions of Corporate Tax
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Streamline accounting procedures and develop best practices.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis.
- Financial Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance and integrity of financial systems and software. Recommend enhancements or upgrades as needed.
- Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Any professional qualification like ACCA would be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a proven Senior Accountant or similar senior accounting role, including team management.
- Hands-on accounting expertise and a strong understanding of IFRS provisions.
- Should have working knowledge of Qatar Corporate Tax and other statutory compliances.
- Experience with ERP solutions, with a mandatory requirement for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have experience in team management.
- Experience in AR processes and accounting would be an added advantage.
- Must have experience in handling petty cash, Fixed asset Accounting in multi entity set up including the full process.
