We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, and provide valuable financial insights. This role requires strong knowledge of Saudi tax laws, accounting principles (SOCPA & IFRS), and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) guidelines
- Manage the year-end closing process, ensuring timely submission of financial reports
General Ledger & Reconciliations:
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries and adjustments
Tax Compliance:
- Manage the preparation and submission of Zakat and VAT returns in compliance with GAZT (General Authority of Zakat and Tax) regulations
- Assist in tax audits and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize tax liabilities
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis
- Monitor actual performance against the budget and provide insights and recommendations for improvements
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and payments
- Resolve any discrepancies and maintain accurate aging reports
Internal Controls:
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditor inquiries
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flows, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations
- Assist in managing banking relationships and financial facilities (if applicable)
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability, cost control, and expense management
- Prepare financial reports and present key insights to senior management
Team Supervision:
- Supervise junior accountants and provide training and mentorship
- Review the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
ERP & Accounting Software:
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of the company's ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, QuickBooks)
- Ensure the integrity of financial data in the system and coordinate with IT for any upgrades or issues
Compliance & Regulatory Updates:
- Stay updated on changes to tax laws, SOCPA guidelines, and IFRS regulations in Saudi Arabia
- Implement necessary changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CPA, SOCPA, or CMA are highly desirable
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, QuickBooks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, SOCPA, Zakat, and VAT regulations
- Experience with Saudi tax laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
