Job Purpose
Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate corporate financial statements and branch financial statements
- Identify key financial performance indicators to management and determine how to improve the health of the business by improving cash flow and profitability
- Assist with the annual Financial Audit.
- Enter Purchase advice to the LOS daily.
- Perform month-end adjusting and closing entries.
- Administer and manage expense reimbursements.
- Record transactions related to interim servicing, co-issue, and agency programs, borrower 1st payments on residential home mortgages, research, and perform courtesy follow-ups when necessary.
- Review/Record daily loan funding transactions for accuracy and ensure completion in a timely manner.
- Review/reconcile loan transactions, warehouse lines, liabilities (credit cards), and bank statements monthly.
- Assist with the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual NMLS, State, and Agency Reports.
- Perform issuance of 1099's and respond to any local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Complete any necessary filings on behalf of the Company.
- Work with post-closing, and operational staff to address issues, and cures occurring throughout the process.
- Identify and implement financial tools to improve profitability and create operational efficiency within the accounting department.
- Generate gain on sales reports by product and provide analysis for management.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses.
- Communicate effectively with team members, and return all calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Supervise and review the work of junior accountants and accounts payable/receivable staff.
- Support various Accounting and cross-functional projects on an as-needed basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English is a MUST, Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, or related field experience,
- Experience with numerous different accounting software solutions and various LOS software.
- Experience in a senior accounting role or similar position preferred
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Must be proficient with all Excel functions. Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs.etc
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to work in US EST working hours, that is 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM Local Time, Monday through Friday
